Although applications to join our Panel of Academic Specialists has officially closed, we would like to invite additional applications from experts based outside of Europe to ensure our final panel is a good representation of the global biodiversity research and conservation community. If you are based outside of Europe, please consider applying for one of these positions which would be contract appointments paid at £500 per day to help with reviews of biodiversity claims.
Applicants will need to have one or more of the following skills:
- Good working knowledge and experience of the practicalities of in situ surveying of specific taxa
- Experience of working with digital data collection ((e.g. camera trapping, acoustic analysis, etc.) and analysis techniques to quantify taxa (e.g. AI, eDNA, GIS etc.)
- Extensive experience in sample design for biodiversity surveys
- Experience in reviewing papers or data sets for biodiversity studies
The Core Review team (which has already been confirmed) will be involved in all applications to ensure consistency of responses. Members of the Panel of Academic Specialists will be requested for input when applications are received that fit their specialist ecoregion, habitat or taxa skills, so this will be on a much less frequent basis than for the Core Review Team.
